Description EXTREMA RATIO MK2.1 DESERT WARFARE is the reinterpretation of a classic and a tribute to a war veteran. The MK2.1 is the restyling of one of the most widely distributed and used war daggers in the Second World War: the Mark 2. Extrema Ratio engages in this ambitious project with the aim to maintain the peculiar characteristics of the original to carry out only functional modifications aimed at increasing performance. The blade is cobalt steel with AISI 303 and AISI 304 employed for other parts and glass-fiber-strengthened nylon replaced leather on the grip. The ergonomics of the original have been maintained but all the structural parts have been oversized to make it a massive and performing multi-purpose knife. Conceptually, the most significant changes are aimed at solving the “weak points” of the original model: the possibility of field disassembly without tools, the straight modified Bowie profile point (easier to resharpen) and the grooves on the “barrel” handle, which helps to perceive the direction of the blade even in the dark and geometrically increase the grip in the twisting movements (screwdriver effect). Other minor changes are the holes for the safety leash and the holes on the guard. The traditional blood drainer has been replaced with the typical Extrema Ratio “side groove” for aesthetic and lightening reasons.
